CALNE SUMMER FESTIVAL

Calne comes alive with the sound of music, the smells of good food and the sights of dancing, costumes and happy faces at the annual Calne Summer Festival.

The day starts at 11am with street stalls, food and craft stalls throughout the town. For children and those young at heart there is a teddy bears parachute jump at St Mary’s Church followed by a teddy bears picnic and circus skills at The Green. Entertainment for all the family continues with the world famous TITAN the ROBOT, an eight foot high giant robot, performing at the Town Hall Car park and later on the A4 just before the carnival procession reaches the town centre.

A golf driving range will be at the New Market Place, Phelps Parade and the offical opening of the Skate Park will happen at The Bowl, Station Road at 12 noon. The Summer Festival is sharing it’s celebrations with the Armed Forces Day who will hold a parade from The Green down to Beach Terrace at 2.30pm and of course the carnival procession it’s self will set off from Bremhill View Social Club at 4.30pm and wind its way to the Town Centre. To top the day off Jennings Fun Fair will stay open until the evening providing fun and laughter and copious amounts of candy floss and toffee apples.

Keep your eye open as lots more surprises are promised for the day. (In the event of persistent rain Titan the Robot will be located at Calne Leisure Centre. Times may vary, please check the Council Facebook page and website nearer the day)

Last year’s Carnival procession was fantastic with a record number of walking entries and floats with many themes, colours and creative ideas. This year we would like the procession to be even bigger! It’s open to schools, community groups, clubs and organisations, young and old.
