FIRST QUARTER UPDATE 2015

The sales performance of the first quarter has been very similar to the first quarter of last year.  Although stock levels are down the amount of sales is pretty much the same. There is definitely a real want for property in the Calne area and surrounding villages.

Sales are taking a little longer to progress through. Despite local authority searches coming in quicker we are experiencing slowness from some financial institutions and from a number of conveyancing firms. It has been important to get paperwork underway quickly and to manage the timescales of a number of solicitors unfortunately.

Some homes have literally been sale agreed in 24 hours because of a lack of stock in a particular price bracket.

The General Election is on the Horizon but this seems not to have dampened the want for homes. The Scottish Referendum did slow things for a few weeks as buyers were unsure about what the financial situation would be if Scotland went independent.

The next quarter will be interesting but the expectation based on people registering to buy seems to be consistency.
