Around two weeks ago the ‘The Old Bankhouse’ Cocktail Bar was opened by Howard Marshall the Lord Mayor. Full on opening night and it has continued to have a brilliant attendance since then.
Francesca & Katie have done a quite remarkable job in turning the Old Barclays Bank into a fantastic venue. It is something the town needed.
The Cocktail Menu has obviously been a ‘labour of love’ with each recipe showing history and not just ingredients. It increases the anticipation before your drink arrives. The feedback so far is that the drinks are absolutely spot on and made with real loving care.
The ‘Old Fashioned’ from 1806 is the oldest on the menu and if you fancy being James Bond for the evening the ‘Vesper’ Martini is there. There are present day favourites, a wine list and non-alcoholic cocktails for those driving home.
Part of a listed building there are high ceilings, large windows and a VIP area with the Old Bank Safe as a feature.
Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
