WHAT A HOMESHOW WE HAD!

ATTRACTED MORE HOMES, AWSOME SATURDAY & A BIG PAT ON THE BACK FOR BEING DIFFERENT!

The three day event offered a different character for each day.

FRIDAY 12th FEBRUARY-

This day seemed to be all about booking viewings for the weekend. Arranging meetings with Solicitors and Mortgage Brokers and the passing of information on our Calne Area and Overseas Homes. Time absolutely flew by and we finally had to call it a day at 9pm that Friday evening. On a high but very tired.

Nice to interact with other people connected to our business too. Goughs and One 77 Mortgages in attendance plus Bevirs on hand if needed. We also had the great news that TM Real Estate asked us to launch their developments in time for the show. One of the biggest developers in Spain.

The action pretty much started on Wednesday evening as we launched our ‘Homeshow’ properties to the internet so it meant that Thursday was the real start date.

SATURDAY 13th FEBRUARY-

What a roller coaster of a day. Trying to manage the diary, finding time to eat and have any sort of break were all a real challenge. Goughs and One 77 were very busy and dealing with the Spanish requests were some real high lights.

All our people cancelled their weekends to make sure we had enough hands on deck to not let anyone down. There were pretty much three people on the road all the time with three in the office plus supporting businesses. The Saturday market was sponsored and our stall was busy handing out local discount leaflets. 300 leaflets in total so hopefully the local businesses will benefit.

Another late finish with the last interaction at 8pm that evening.

VALENTINE’S DAY, SUNDAY 14th FEBRUARY-

Slow start and a little worrying. We opened the doors at 10am and it was mostly talking to people by telephone up until around Noon. Then it started. We probably didn’t take into account the Valentines effect and the importance of love that morning (N.B. We ourselves got up early to make sure our partners and loved ones got their flowers, chocolates and other presents).

Lunch time onwards it was like Saturday again. The last appointment was at 4:30pm and we finally called it a day at 6pm Sunday. The thing is that all four of our staff members were needed to cover the diary and we would be surprised if any agent in Wiltshire was as busy as us that day or even open. Next time we will probably avoid a Valentine’s Day as love was the winner especially in the morning.

WAS IT WORTH IT?

On reflection a resounding YES!

It brought much needed stock to the market and it was very well attended. It is important not to be doing the same old thing day in and out and hopefully we showed our owners and buyers that we will make that extra effort for them

Bill Gates said ‘Keep changing and prepare to be different’ and that is part of our culture. So we are looking forward to our next adventure.

Final note- Melanie insisted on us giving out Heart Shaped Lollypops and bags of sweets. We can definitely say that people really do have a sweet tooth.
