For some agents it may have been a quiet summer but we have seen a real consistency in sales and activity. Sometimes you can lull yourself as an agent into thinking that everyone is on holiday and not to expect too much over these months. True that people take a well-earned break but they only disappear for a week or two. Not for six weeks.
The month after Brexit was quite simply breathless for us. Buyers are feeding back that they are keen to buy but are put off by some agents vastly overpricing to try and gain business as they struggle to attract properties to their register. Good prices are being paid but to a point.
Again the relocation buyers have been out in force attracted to the ever improving market town of Calne. Festivals, the launch of the Calne Heritage Quarter and the well-known friendliness of the Calne people is continuing add to the ever growing popularity.
This has meant that our weekends have been some of the busiest on record. Sunday coverage at times has led to us clocking off after 6pm.
The signs are that the activity will be constant over the next quarter as the demand is there. It will be dependent on stock supply and realistic pricing.
