The ‘Home Show’ was such a success that it even attracted BBC Wiltshire to live broadcast the event. It gave us a chance to both showcase the properties being launched but also promote the town of Calne.
The end result? The ‘Home Show’ saw the doubling of available stock and 20 Sales agreed following the event. It showed that if people want to move and they have a house to sell- then getting their home onto the market is the key.
The New Year heralded uncertainty in which way the market place would go, fuelled by a lack of available homes to purchase. The one certainty is that there is a large amount of people wanting to buy a home.
The decision at Butfield Breach was to push forward and attract stock by holding- ’The Homeshow’ event. It was timed to hit the market at the optimum time in early March. Supported by large promotional advertising and articles on both Rightmove and the Gazette & Herald. It proved that as an Agent you have to be as proactive as possible and to be different in approach.
Prices have moved upward to a certain degree. Some Agents have taken the road of vastly over pricing to attract business. In the end this has hurt them as they struggle to achieve some of the asking prices promoted. Many agents in the South West are reported to be under tremendous pressure.
