END OF JULY 2015 MARKET UPDATE

The holiday season is upon us although some of the weather in the last week would not make you think the Summer is here. Although it is noticeable that some people have flown away buyer interest is still very high. The misconception is that the market quietens for six weeks but in our experience that is not the case. Buyers may disappear for two weeks but they are still looking intensely when they get back with a new tan.

There is still a lack of stock which means that homes will go quickly as long as the price is not way over the norm. The buyer profile is across the board from investor to homeowner.

Calne as a desired location is consistently on the up because of the improvements in the town and the resurgence in the unique identity that it has. Recent promotions with regard to Calne being the ‘Home of Witshire Ham’ (Home of the Wiltshire Cure), being the center of a proposed new A4 Tourist Route plus the discovery of Oxygen, have all helped focus on the area nationally. Recent independent surveys have also classed Calne as a town that is ‘Extremely Friendly’. A ‘Great’ reason to want to live here.
